Spraying is an effective method for cooling cows and preventing heat stress by transferring heat from their skin surface, allowing the water to evaporate from liquid to vapor. When ranches consider heat protection and cooling options, spraying is the preferred method, followed by fans and shading. In recent years, visual spraying has become a well-established practice for cooling in dairy farms.
At Terrui, a leading name among dairy farm equipment manufacturers, we understand the unique challenges faced by dairy farmers. That’s why we offer innovative solutions tailored to maintain optimal conditions for your livestock.
AI Visual Recognition System
The camera is installed on a pillar in the feeding aisle to identify and detect cow heads. The visual recognition computer captures images at regular intervals (e.g., every 0.5 seconds) and compares them. A match is deemed successful if the similarity exceeds 40% (this threshold can be adjusted). Based on the detection results and the coordinates in the image, the visual recognition computer communicates with the distribution controller to activate the corresponding solenoid valve, enabling precise spraying.
This system can be used not only for cooling in cow barns but also in poultry houses, pig pens, stables, and various other livestock enclosures.
The noticeable decrease in appetite during the summer will be restored, leading to improvements in summer fatigue and overall health caused by reduced appetite. As a result, milk production and weight gain will recover. Additionally, with improved physical condition, conception rates during summer and autumn will also return to normal, benefiting year-round management.
